NORTHERN KENTUCKY TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM
In 1996, as the result of several advanced rescue responses, the Erlanger, Florence, and Point Pleasant Fire Departments recognized a need for specialized rescue int eh Northern Kentucky Area. They also recognized that the only practical way to provide this resource was through a joint, cooperative agreement. The three departments co-founded the Northern Kentucky Technical Rescue Team to respond to confined space and trench incidents.
Since this time, the team has expanded to include public and private agencies, equipment and personnel from Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties. The team is now capable of responding to calls for Building Collapse, Confined Space, Heavy Vehicle, Ice, Large Animal, Missing Persons, Rope/Tower, and Swift Water Rescues. The team has responded to calls in Boone, Campbell, Grant, Kenton, McCraken, Owen, and Pendleton Counties in Kentucky.
The Point Pleasant Fire Protection District is proud to be a co-founder and continued member of the team, providing an invaluable resource to the community. Currently, the District provides personnel as well as housing and maintaining Rescue 1374, the Team's Grant purchased Shoring and Collapse Unit.
